Strain (Muscle)
A strain is an injury to a muscle after the muscle becomes overstretched. It is commonly called a pulled muscle. A muscle can be over stretched during a job task causing tearing of the muscle. The muscle tear can range from a very small tear consisting of a few torn muscle fibers to a complete full thickness tear.

Common symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising, stiffness, and possible muscle deformity. Treatment and recovery time varies of the extent of the injury. A muscle strain is the equivalent to a ligament sprain.
