Tendinosis
Tendinosis can be referred to by a variety of other terms, including:
- Chronic tendinitis
- Chronic tendon injury
- Chronic tendinopathy
In short, tendinosis is long term damage to a tendon at the cellular level. The tendon degenerates over time, but without inflammation. The condition is often chronic and the tendon often becomes more susceptible to tearing. It is different than tendinitis which is acute inflammation of a tendon. Tendinosis often leads to pain and a decrease in the strength of your tendons. Whatever the cause of your injury was, don't wait any longer to get treated before it is made worse.
