Shoulder Sprain

Shoulder Sprain PhysicianMilwaukee Shoulder Doctor Treats Sprains

A shoulder sprain is when you stretch or tear ligaments which support the shoulder. The ligaments are attached to the shoulder joint (glenohumeral joint) or the collarbone joint (acromioclavicular joint). A sprain can consist of a partial to complete tear of a ligament or ligaments. If the ligaments are completely torn this can result in a shoulder dislocation or an AC joint separation depending on the affected area of the shoulder. These are painful conditions causing loss of shoulder motion and other shoulder problems that may be permanent.
